Like art, the beauty of poetry lies in the eye of the beholder. Different readers can form different impressions about what the author is describing. This is due to fact that we all bring with us a lifetime of impressions, feelings, and opinions.
A writer uses their skill to convey a message. The unique feature of poetic verse is the ability of the writer to use rhythem and/or rhyme to catch the eye and engage the reader. The messages conveyed within the poem are brought to life by the flow of the poem. It adds a new dimension to the piece of writing.
With some poems we can only appreciate the craft itself as the content is so personal it defies our understanding. At the same time, some poems bring forth the emotions of their writer taking us on a journey to a place we have either never been before or that we can associate with.
Poetry is there for you take in and to contemplate. "It is as it is"
