The 2008 Presidential Election has come down to the top three candidates: Hillary Clinton, a senator from New York, as well as the wife of former president Bill Clinton; Barack Obama, a senator from Illinois; and John McCain, a senator from Arizona, and Prisoner Of War in Vietnam. The Republican race has come down to just John McCain, who is now the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party. With the Democratic Party, there is still a tough race in progress, with both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama still in the running to be the Democratic Party's nominee for president.

The race for the chance to become a parties nominee can bring the best and worst out of the candidates. With the Republican race with a presumptive winner, the Democrats have failed in deciding their nominee at this time. With Clinton and Obama going after votes, they are beginning to show their cards. With both Democratic candidates feverishly fund-raising money to beat out each other, Republican John McCain has a chance to go after both candidates in the Presidential race.

Both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have realized the even though they are each other's enemy, John McCain is the bigger enemy of the Democratic Party as a whole. If the Democrats had a presumptive nominee, they would have a much better chance to show their muscles against McCain for President. With both of their minds set of defeating each other though, Clinton and Barack must conquer the nomination before swinging with full force at McCain.

As Clinton and Obama are mainly focused on beating out each other, McCain is focused on November, when all of American votes for the President of the United States. During this time of sparring between the Democratic candidates, McCain has ample time to go in detail about his plans if he is elected, has more time to raise money for the November election, and has plenty of time to travel the country to get to know all of America. McCain has the chance to cheaply spread his word, and at the same time spreading the flaws of both Clinton and Obama.

As the Democratic Convention is coming closer, the Democratic party must get behind a candidate if they wish to have a better chance in defeating the Republican come November. If they wait until the convention to choose their nominee, there will just be more to fight about in a time in which all Democrats should be focusing on beating out Republican John McCain. If both candidates keep fighting amongst each other, they will just continue to bring about the bad of each other, which will overall help out McCain.

The Democratic Party needs to choose sides now if they wish to destroy McCain and the Republicans come November. If they continue this battle until June, then it just leaves less time to prepare for November, and more time for John McCain to win the presidency.
