Man's Best Friend
Always there when I come home
Thrilled to see my face
Wanting just a playful touch
Not a long embrace
Patiently waiting throughout the day
Lying near the door
In sleepful dreams, you long to play
Out in the yard once more
No job, no cares, perhaps some fear
Will I come home again?
But wait, that sound, it's me you hear
Home to play with man's best friend

My Best Friend
I helped to pick you out
But when we got you home
You caused such a fight
He said you had to go
It really wasn't

Night Prowler
Silently, stalking through the night
Sniffing the air for that special scent
Turning corners cautiously

Dear Molly, the best dog in the world
I've always wanted to give you a list
Of the amazing things that you are
So I can prove
My cat holds me responsible
for changes in the weather
He tells me all about it
every time that we're together.
"I must go out!
