The United States has earned a reputation for being the strongest 'super-power' in the world. We were the first nation to drop a nuclear bomb on another country. We wage war, for our own economic gain. We contradict ourselves constantly and are hypocritical. For example; As mentioned, we dropped a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and we have the nerve to go around the world telling other countries that they can not have nuclear power. Who made us boss? The answer is nobody did, we are trying to be the boss, and some people don't like it. A lot of people don't like it. And they carry out acts of terror to make their point.
We are a huge target for terrorists, even from within our own borders and by our own people. We go out of our way to manipulate and control our own people and basically force them into a life of working to pay taxes and bills, locked into a kind of slavery while at the same time being force-fed the media that only one or two corporations control. Music, books, television shows, commercials....we see what they want us to see, we read what they want us to read, and we buy what they want us to buy. We start war under false pretense. We stick our nose into others people business all the time, so it is no mystery why we are an attractive target for acts of terror. Have you ever tracked how many times the same dollar you earn, is taxed? Is it ridiculous! They tax you when you earn it (income tax). Whatever you spend the rest on, is taxed when you buy things. (sales tax) If you have any left and want to save it, you are taxed on your savings. Even when you finally die, and leave your money to your family, there is a inheritance tax! It's enough to drive someone insane, and that is what happens. People convince themselves that the only way to change this system, is to take it down by force.
That said, there are other more peaceful ways to protest this kind of political behavior. If you believe in the election process, US citizens can band together and try to put into office someone intelligent, insightful, and ethical. Someone who will focus on our own problems here, and put our energy and resources into making our country a better place to live. If you are a foreigner, fed up with the US and it's policies and actions, you can appeal to your own government to start a dialog, and to try to prevent the fringe forces from taking matters into their own hands. But the fact remains, that until there is a responsible government in place, these attempts to converse constructively would most likely be ignored, and we will continue to do business as usual, and will continue to attract to us, people out to destroy us and all that we stand for.
