The character of love cannot be solely defined because its traits are different for each and every person who has it. Love is different in every circumstance and I believe that there are many types of love and so if there are then they would infinitely have many types of character making up their definition in each individual scenario.
For example....There are two couples strolling along through the park....as they pass each other by each couple thinks to themselves.... 'wow what a love they have, they seem so in love, thats what love is, like what we have' , and yes each of their love may be similar in ways but as there are two individuals in each relationship and each couple have different personalities and lives, then their love will be different and take a different path, and so as it grows it will build its own character, a character that another love could not be compared to or match because it will be between two other people and so only they will be able to define what love is to them.
The character of both of those couples love will be seen by their friends and family and build up a reputation by what those close to them see as their love, and the third parties will compare it to their love and see specific differences in the characters of each love. So the character of love can be defined for one particular relationship but not for all love, because each love has its own identity and unique qualities that make it the love it is for the two people in which it embraces.
So the character of love is unique with each love, it is built up by the people who feel the love, their personalities, lives, environment, expectations, emotions.....the character of love can be defined by the definition in which one person or a couple give it and the stamp they put on it to make it their own. I look at it like people, everyone is different, has their own personality, their own look, voice, experiences and traits that have made them who they are so that others can define them, their unique character, and if we tried to compare them to another person we would find similarities for sure but we would never find another person who was them because we would always find and see parts of their character which were different and so would still define them as an individual character.
I don't think that we could ever define the character of love, but what I can say is that love has character, it is individual, it may be a sad love, a happy love, a mysterious love, a playful love, a torn love, a broken and bitter love. It may have honest qualities, scared qualities, courageous qualities but in the end it doesn't matter what its character is because we all have it, we all embrace it, it molds us and it is beautiful.
