Marijuana is a very dangerous drug but not in the way that you may think
it is true you can find all kind of "evidence" on the dangers of it but look closely
all the "evidence" comes from government web sites and if you do the tracking
they all quote each other and it goes round and round in a circle like a wild goose
chase with no end, often when you do find a quote of a report it is taken out of context
and so horribly misquoted that what the AMA (American medical Association) or the IOM (Institute of Medicine) was actually saying is totally lost in the spin the Government puts on it.
Example the ONDCP (Office of National Drug Control Policy) quotes the AMA
and says that there is no evidence that Smoked Marijuana has any medical
uses, Yes and No lets look at part of the actual report.
The following statement, recommended by the Council on Scientific Affairs, was adopted as AMA policy by the AMA House of Delegates at the 2001 AMA Annual Meeting:
.........The AMA believes that the NIH should use its resources and influence to support the development of a smoke-free inhaled delivery system for marijuana or delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) to reduce the health hazards associated with the combustion and inhalation of marijuana. (5) The AMA believes that effective patient care requires the free and unfettered exchange of information on treatment alternatives and that discussion of these alternatives between physicians and patients should not subject either party to criminal sanctions.
Wow the American Medical Association wants the Government to fund research on alternative
ways of administering what the "experts" at the ONDCP has decided is a dangerous drug and has no medical value not only that but they suggest that doctors and patients not be criminalized.
So just why is Marijuana a dangerous drug? I'll tell you why its dangerous Prohibition!
thats right the War on Drugs makes it dangerous. consider this when thinking about
why its dangerous.
1. It has a high street price
2. Dealers don't care who they sell it to as long as they have the money
3. Its only a "Gateway drug" because the dealers supply man got nabed and the dealer will
offer your kid something else to try
4. Because there is a lot of money involved Gangs are having wars on our streets to control
the sell of it.
5. Like Glen Fry said in the song you got to carry weapons cause you always carry cash
What we need to do to make Marijuana less dangerous is to reform of the Drug Policy
of the United States for some reason our government has been attempting to eradicate a plant species from the earth since 1937 whats remarkable is that prohibition on alcohol had just
ended four years earlier in 1933 you would have thought the Government would have learned
its lesson
What needs to be done is this
1. Decriminalize it, this will bring down the street price and empty out a good portion of our
prisons
2. Regulate it, this will put guidelines on Who What When and Where and keep it out of
our kids hands.
3. Tax it, This will bring an enormous new revenues to the Government Coffers
4. Research it, This will bring new industry to our economy
What really makes Marijuana and so many things in our country dangerous is that
we seem to be like ostriches always got our heads stuck in the sand and not
paying attention to what is actually going on in our country until its too late
and the politicians have stuck it to us again.
