Over the weekend two individuals were killed in a drunk driving accident. That phrase is commonly spoken on any broadcast news, specifically on Saturday and Sunday news broadcasts.

Drinking and driving is a common occurrence. Each weekend many individual will head out to the local bar, restaurant, or nightclub and drink to their hearts content. Many of the same individuals will drive their car home, as well as their friends who have hit the bottle a bit harder. Many individuals will make it home alive, safe, and without being pulled over, resulting in the action to repeat itself each weekend.

The authorities do not want an individual to repeat the action of drinking and driving, which is why the police force is constantly on the prowl for drunk drivers. Drinking and driving may result in the ultimate punishment, a D.U.I. Not only does a D.U.I result in embarrassment, but also large fines, suspension of your driving license, and possibly serving hard time. The punishment received for drinking and driving is not worth the risk of being citied with a D.U.I. In order to prevent a D.U.I there are several tips one can use.

Do not drive. If you do not drive, then you can drink like a drunk, and not receive a D.U.I. You may be cited for public urination if you are not careful, but a D.U.I will not be a worry.

Do not drink. If you do not drink, then you can watch everybody else drink, and possibly enjoy yourself.

Take a taxi. A taxi allows individuals to take shot after shot, beer after beer, without the worry of being citied with a D.U.I. If you say to yourself, I do not have the funds to afford a taxi, then you definitely can not afford the fines connected with a D.U.I.

Walk. Attend a bar, restaurant or club, which is in walking distance from a house. You cannot receive a W.U.I, which means walking is a simple substitute when drinking.

Host a house party. If you host a house party, you may increase the chance of your friends risk of receiving a D.U.I, but your risk will be zero, since you are at home in your comfortable house.

Drinking and driving can severally change an individual's life, especially if monetary funds are not peaking. Drinking a driving is a choice, it is your decision whether or not you will risk the chance of embarrassment, large fines, suspension of your license and even jail time, or simply deciding not to drink, or not to drive. In the end the decision is yours, it is your responsibility and ultimately your life.
