The Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon is a must-have for any Dragon deck in the Yu-Gi-Oh Trading Card Game.
For starters, it has massive attack points. At 4500 as a base for other Equip cards, opponents would be hard pressed to defeat the monster. Even the illegal Obelisk the Tormentor can't stand up to the Blue Eyes' might.
The monster's defense is nothing to laugh at either. Most monster's tend not to break the 3000 attack point level, while the defense points of Blue Eyes Ultimate just happens to be 3000, and along with certain Equip items, such as Yellow Luster Shield, defense will hardly be a problem.
Strategies with the Blue Eyes Ultimate are numerous and varied, as they are with all Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Take the Ring of Magnetism, for example. Equip it to the Blue Eyes (if you have enough space in your Magic Zone), and all of your opponent's monsters will have to attack the Blue Eyes if they choose to attack. The attack points will be reduced, however, be 500 points. But that can easily be remedied by a Reinforcements trap card of a Rush Recklessly spell card. This is but one of literally hundreds of thousands of strategies at your disposal.
Now, it can be difficult to get the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon onto the field. All of the Blue Eyes White Dragon cards required to summon Blue Eyes Ultimate are eight star monsters. This means that at least two lesser monsters need to be discarded, or sacrificed, to summon only one of the Dragons. But this can be fixed with two common cards. The first is Lord of D., a monster card with an interesting effect. With Lord of D. on the field, all dragons are immune to all spell, trap, and other cards that specifically target monsters. On its own, a wonderful effect, but with Flute of Summoning Dragon thrown into the mix, you can summon the rest of your Blue Eyes White Dragons at once. Not too shabby.
The Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon is a Fusion monster. This means that, with all of your Blue Eyes White Dragons on the field, you still need a Polymerization spell card to summon the Ultimate. There are other cards that can be used for fusion, but they are unreliable, and often have to have special conditions fulfilled before usage is allowed.
With all of your Blue Eyes White Dragons sacrificed for fusion, they are out of play. But, with such a powerhouse as the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon and Lord of D. on the field, you should hardly need them any more.
Victory is constantly in your grasp with the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon.
