Forever And Beyond
How but to slow the clock
ticking away my time
forever reminding me
there are hills yet to climb
obstacles placed in my path
by only me I realize
here I stand on the golden shore
reaching out with my eyes
for she with the auburn hair
she whose love I have lost
will it ever be this way
if it is then what a cost
the flowers of many colors
are wilting and falling over
reaching for the earth
to give them a safe cover
the leaves too fall
and turn a dirty brown
as they rest upon the earth
on my brow a furrowed frown
just once more to see her
and the smile upon her face
I will forever stand here
waiting in this place
