I do not question, analyze or pontificate whether God exists... He is the omnipresence that I view in the morning sunrise and the Holy Spirit that guides me when I am lost. My parents never brought me to church or forced their views upon me, yet the views grew stronger as I sought to learn more about God. My mother and father have a similar phrase, "It is a long time in the box." Which means to be buried is the end, and they are happy, moral, loving people that enjoy the moments of this earthly world. I love everyone in my family, but I disagree with them on the God issue. He does exist and I have proof. He has guided my decisions and held me up when I could not walk. First, open your mind and your heart as I recall three events which I was rescued by the grace of God.
I attended Michigan State University and invited my little sister and cousin down for the weekend to attend a graduation party of a friend. The party was packed with people and plenty of alcohol, which is not conducive to keeping an eye on my little sister. She was drinking, dancing, and laughing hard. My boyfriend and I were watching out for her, but she disappeared in the haze of cigarette smoke and loud music. We searched the house for the two underage girls and discovered that they had left the party with some testosterone enhanced college men. I did not know any of their names or let alone their addresses. My boyfriend and I decided to return to the apartment and wait for a phone call or hopefully my little sister to turn up. Shortly after we were back home the phone rang and my sister was crying frantically, "Help me! I am by some water! Help, I locked myself in the @@#@ bathroom!". I said, "calm down.. I will be there soon." How? Where? The river runs the entire campus with thousands of apartments, houses, and dorms and I had no idea where she was.
My boyfriend and I jumped into the car and I told him precisely where to turn and seven minutes later I was in front of an apartment building and then I told him to wait as I ran up two flights of stairs and banged on the apartment door. A bulky guy answered the door with a beligerant attitude. At my full height of 5'4" and weighing in at 105 pounds I verbally barraged the four men and simultaneously grabbed my frightened sister and cousin. The four men never tried to stop me and they backed down as I pulled my sister from that awful apartmetn which I felt certain could have turned into a gang rape room. God led me to that apartment and HE helped
