I have no claim to the best
Of your life -
Not your time,
Purest love,
Nor
Your most pleasant thoughts.
She unwittingly lends me your body:
I have no options.
I must
Return it exactly
As I found it:
Pampered and unmarked.
I can only claim
Your lust
In darkened rooms;
Sips of black coffee
In distant cafes;
An hour or two
Once or twice a week;
A few sound byte conversations;
And
Ubiquitous
Betrayal.

Sticky 100-degree rain

You are only hurting yourself.
It was greed - But for what?
For flesh, for comfort, for acknowledgment?
We all fall into those
Insanity, pure and simple.
Boredom, yes.
Did I need so badly to feel loved?
Why did I not just read a book,
or go to sleep
Who do you fool when you cheat
Nobody but yourself
With ruses and tricks to beat
The honest for top shelf
What is the price
