First there is NO substitute for oil, its true many of the things we make from oil could be made from something else but usually at a greater cost. Second using our food for fuel has got to be

the most absurd and stupid thing to come down the Liberal Lunacy pipes in years!

To begin with so called bio fuels are 30% less efficient than Gasoline and Diesel
what does that mean? Put simply for every 8 gallons of ethanol you put in your car
drink or pour 2 of them out on the ground because as far as your car goes you are not
getting the benefit of using them but you are getting the pollution from them.

Ethanol is also destructive to your car it speeds up the degradation of rubber in your fuel lines and causes the breakdown of the gaskets and seals on you engine this is a big problem
that causes ethanol to have to be transported in very inefficient way and makes our current
infrastructure for the transport to gas and diesel useless.

Consider this 80% of our greenhouse gases come from vegetation so how can the increase in the planting of more be helpful? Seems to me that since so much comes from the vegetation we should start a massive deforestation project also CARBON is THE most abundant element know to man in the universe how can it be pollution?

Finally the use of fossil fuels is the most efficient form of energy we have other than
Nuclear power oh sure there is wind and solar and hydro power but all of them only work
if you have the perfect weather (I.E. Sunny windy and wet) finally the answer is not
to throw out fossil fuels we just DO NOT have a substitute to replace them at the time
but to figure out how to use them more efficiently give you and example you drive down
the road you have the AC on the fan is blowing you have your cell phone being charged
the radio on the kids are watching dvds in the back you have your gps working and the
headlights are on all this is happening from a gallon of fuel that you are still getting
30mpg out of but if you turn all that stuff off then the only energy being used is driving you
down the road the rest is being wasted as heat given off by the engine with a little bit
stored in your battery. same thing in your home if you dont use power then the Power plant
just produced it for nothing because its not stored anywhere!

I think the solution is to rework our cars and trucks and to make them like a train
a train is electrical and gets its power from a diesel generator like the latest CSX
add said they can move a ton of freight 425 miles on a single gallon of fuel how!?
Well think about this I have a generator that I use when I go camping it puts out
4500 watts of power for 8hrs on a quart of gas if it was running an electrical motor
in my car driving me down the road how many miles could I drive in 8 hours?
