Princess Diana: Is it time to move on?

A PRINCESS OF ALL TIME
(In Memory Of Princess Diana)

The day Lady Diana became Princess Di
was the birthday of the rumors that will forever fly.
From make a new friend - to buying a new dress,
you couldn't do anything
without being in the watchful eye of the press.
I have always respected and admired you,
the way you lived through your ideas - within you attitudes,
gave you a style all your own.

which inadvertently isolated you
leaving you seemingly feeling totally alone.
You did things both ways -
breaking away from the normal path to do things your way.
Yet, you followed certain traditions
while still having your say.
You had the status and the position
but in the palace you had limited power.
You fought for change, and changed what you could
right down to the eleventh hour.
You were a hero to all the world children
and so much more.
you worked tirelessly - giving all of yourself
to every one of the organizations you represented.
Bringing with you, fire and dignity
to all the causes you were fighting for.
You took a stand for many causes
without losing yourself in reveling in your wins
or over your losses.
The path you chose was never an easy one,
Trying to raise your children with as much normalcy as possible
sometimes led you on the run.
Trying to provide your children with as s much normalcy as possible was a war
you fought every day,
while the press and paparazzi hunted you down like prey.
Frequently not knowing which way to turn
or who you could trust within the millions in sight
your right to privacy was lost
along with many other rights.
You became a regular in the tabloids
each with a new wild story to unfold.
You tried to break free but it only strengthened their hold.
Until that rainy night when you took with you
the truth that now can never be told.
You were a lady in every sense of the word,
always expressing your unique grace and dignity
even through the pressure, pain an controversy you incurred.
You changed some of the ways of the world
and truly made a difference in it with your time alive.
In a song after your death that was re-written in your name and honor
is a line that says "Goodbye Englands' Rose",
because of you - and - without you
this world will never be the same."
