In the long shadows of the day
though I cannot sense Him there
when the sun takes rest away
I walk on, but have no care
When the rain falls between the flashes
of the lightning of peril here
and the pain of the world then lashes
I walk on, without fear
As the bad days roll in with thunder
or the clouds roll about
and storms cause some to wonder
I walk on, with no doubt
When end comes like and open door
and all my days I've passed
and my time has come to be no more
I will walk my last
with God
