Peace cannot exist without war or bloodshed or the frayed edges of trust and security. It is the stillness after a chaotic storm. We spend our lives trying to find it, and reminiscing of when we had it. Peace only comes to those who will truly appreciate it.
We should never forget the events that forged peace in our societies. Sometimes hatred and hardship tries to snap our olive branch, but we always seem able to overlook our fear of differences in times of adversity. Even when there is doubt for tomorrow we march on in hope of peace's return.
In ourselves is a harder place to find peace. Hindsight is never 20/20, as we only seem to think about how back when was better. You have to fight in yourself for peace, as it is not about passive acceptance. When you find inner peace it will be challenged every second of your life. These challenges come not as detours of hope but as an exercise in resolve.
In nature chaos is peace. It is about how all the events just beyond our understanding can come together to work. In nature we are reminded that simplicity is not complacent of peace. It can be found anywhere we look for it. Be-it in silence or symbiotic relationships peace in nature will always exist.
And what of war and blood and mistrust needed for peace. These are the things that force us to plant the seeds we hold inside us. Peace can not come inactively. We have to want it, nurture it, and ultimately understand to appreciate it. Peace is a fragile plant where as hatred and hardship are wild fires.
Finding peace is not as hard as it sounds. You have to recognize that peace comes in many forms. You should never spend your life overlooking other forms to find just one as it will never seem to come. And even in the off chance you do find the peace you've been searching for without those other pieces of peace, it will feel unfulfilling.
What is the value of peace? It can never be truly measured as it is invaluable. Not only must we understand the price of peace but the values it instills in us. Peace is never impossible to those who are willing to work for it.
