Sometimes I've been hungry,
And wanted so bad to have something to eat,
I've thought of what I'd like to have,
Then settled for what I had and need.

Children who go hungry are the worst,
Because there is nothing they can do for themselves,
Adults who hunger is a sad thing too,
As they have to work while they need to eat.

Starving people is another plight,
Foreign countries and at home alike,
Africa, Indian, Asia, and more,
Have many people who die from hunger, this I abhor.

Senior citizens can't eat allot of times either,
They have to buy pills to be well so they choose either/or,
This too is very sad as nutrition is also a need,
Sometimes they have not much on which to feed.

Animals that go hungry is such a crime too,
As many are pushed out of the car to fend for themselves alone,
No food and no water is available to them often times as well,
Adoption and birth control for them is a good sell.

Oh hunger the pain of it all,
Humans and animals alike both big and quite small,
Prayer for a solution is what we need,
Prayer for those in poverty and also for those who live by greed.
