Hiding behind curtains
That are dying to reveal
What stands behind.
A mask that is covering
The truth, the real kind.
A wall that surrounds my heart,
Reaching to the sky.
The ladder to climb it is missing,
The key to the door thrown away.
A gate secures the premises
And goes all around to the back
Locked a million times.
No one can come in
And I can't get out!
Trapped!

Poetry: Being trapped

The Box
Trapped in this box,
With a wheelless car.
Trapped in this box,
With a shattered star.
Trapped in this box,
It seems awfully
I thought you should know
That I don't know where to go
My heart is torn in two
And no, it's not because of you
I'm trapped
When we were together, I felt like I was trapped
I worked so hard to hide it, all my strength was sapped
Slowly, I felt myself
The page won't load
Some ad banner somewhere isn't coming up and the page just won't load or something else isn't right
Under the ice
the water is so cold it burns
with illusory warmth.
Under the ice
I have become mere flotsam,
caught and held
