Before purchasing any Auto insurance, one must first outline the individual needs and usage of the vehicle, and place any questions you might ask an operative Representative over the phone or via Email onto a piece of paper, so every possible need is met. Similar to visiting a doctor, having all the information for the problem to find a solution is the best method to obtaining all the information needed. What would you be looking for in coverage should you be involved in an accident or breakdown, and what extra's are offerred such road side assist?

* Always have a financial plan available to outline how much a week, fortnight, month or annually you can contribute out of a budget to cover the cost of Auto insurance and how much are you willing to place on excessive expenses should your Automobile's repairs exceed the cover you are under.

* Another thing to think about before you purchase any cover is to research as much in to a company as you can for reputability and popularity. Word of mouth or reputation can be a great source of how reliable a company can or will be if you or your automobile are ever involved in an accident or in need of urgent repairs. No matter how great an Insurance company advertises their reliability or service, first hand experience from other members is the most reliable resource.

* Be honest with an insurance company's about any details including if their are to be more then, let's say, two drivers, and also such details as under 25 yr old usage of insured automobiles. Insignificant as this may seem, even the slightest 'white lie' or 'misinformation' can give an insurance company cause to withhold any benefits you may be entitled to due to, 'misleading information.'

* Inquire into the coverage options with the company by asking any questions you may not be sure of and tell them you are searching around for the best possible coverage. Sometimes this can push for a better deal if they think they can gain your business. Even if you find the right policy for you but are more inclined to go to a company whose fees and charges are slightly higher, mention that you have a cheaper quote from another company but would consider to sign up with them if they could make a better deal or offer something to make it worth your money.

* Never sign up with any Insurance coverage until you have had time to think it through by yourself, or with your partner etc. Rushing into an agreement you may later regret is worth thinking about because sometimes an advertisement scheme or operator can fire you up to think their offer is too good to refuse...and sometimes it is better to refuse then be pressured into an agreement that's not right for you.

*If you are seriosly considering a specific company, please make sure to read every last line of their policy before you sign anything. Fine print among companies can be the greatest excuse for not paying a claim.
