Schools that offer arts programs are a valuable part of our American culture. The study of art is expanding and changing along with technology. If you're looking to hone your artistic skills, whether in drawing, painting and sculpting, music performance and composition, theatre performance and theatre production design, graphic or interior design, or even animation, film-making and game programming, there are some wonderful schools in the southwestern U.S. This area includes New Mexico and Arizona, and certain regions of other states as well. For simplicity's sake, this list will include information only on colleges in New Mexico and Arizona.
ARIZONA
The Art Institute
Phoenix
The Art Institute has roughly forty-one locations around the U.S. As a basic example, the courses and programs offered at the Phoenix, Arizona location include:
Baking and Pastry Arts, Graphic and Interior Design, Animation, Game Programming, Fashion Marketing and Digital Video Production and Film-making.

The Art Center Design College
Tucson
The Art Center Design College offers eight Bachelor of Arts diplomas, including Graphic Design, Photography, Animation, Illustration, Fine Arts, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, and Marketing and Advertising.
Associate of Arts degrees can be obtained in Interior Design and in Visual Communication. Certificate Programs include Web Design which takes three fifteen-week terms to complete, and Interior Design which takes four fifteen-week terms. Students may also apply to take individual non-credit courses at the College.
As you can see, Interior Design is offered in several degree programs, making this the ideal school for anyone interested in learning Interior Design at any level, especially for those who need to have a flexible schedule and cannot commit to a four-year degree.
Collins College
Tempe
Formerly called Al Collins Graphic Design School, the college has expanded in accordance with advances in technology. Visual Communication, Film and Video Production, Digital Video Production, Game Programming, Game Design, and Interior Design degrees are offered.
