As shameful as it is to think of, I do believe our society is letting go of its morals. I understand that there is a slight argument that the definition of "Good Morals" is what one believes is to be good morals. There are no books that define the rules to good morals unless you use the bible. Even if one does not believe in God, they would have to admit that the bible sets us up with morals. In fact my being a Christian, once debated religion with a friend who was an athiest. Since he did Not believe in God, that was exactly what he said the bible was. It was a book written by men to set up good morals and principles. So let us use the bibles standards of morals for this discussion.
There have always been evil men and good men on earth. Those who will live by a moral code and those who will go against it. Yet look back as far as the 1800's in the great west. Butch Cassidy was a thief. He was one of those who went against the moral standards. Before he met Sundance Kid, he was caught once and sentenced to so many years of hard labor. After his sentencing he asked the judge if he could leave for a short time and take care of a few personal things and he gave his word that he would be back in time to go to be transferred to the state penetentary. On his word, the judge let him go and being good to his word he returned. After only a short time into his sentence he made an offer to the state governer that if he would be set free, that he would give his word to never commit another crime in that state again. The Governer in fact let him go and Butch Cassidy was again good to his word. This is a story I learned on a documentary video I once owned about the old west. It is suppose to be true fact. Yet can anyone imagine a criminal being set free today because they would give their word not to commit any more crimes?
My real father once walked a mile away from his home when he was a small child. When someone found him alone they helped him find his way home again and escorted him there. There was no fear then of what someone might have done to a small child alone. Today we are afraid to let our children play in the front yard alone.
In the fifties, women dressed proper, covering themselves for the most part. A couple of years ago I went to my step-daughter junior high basketball game and was shocked to see so many young teen girls in the stands showing as much cleavage as they could.
I graduated in the mid-80's and remember one girl in my school who got
