Sabotaging your success with self-doubt and fear

If you're not really seeing much success in your home based business at the moment, chances are you're probably reading the title "The Struggles and Fears of Being Successful" and thinking 'yeah, right'!

How could being successful be classed as struggling? Struggling is what you do when you can't generate traffic, when you can't write a good, sales converting ad, when you can't get anyone to join your business, or if you do get someone to join, you can't get them to duplicate your actions!

Fear is what you feel when you think about how you are going to pay the bills this month, or how you're going to afford the groceries.

I'm not denying these are huge obstacles. They are. Certainly when you're starting out in any form of home based business, getting sales and signups is your primary concern. If you don't know what or how to do it, then you're struggling big time.

But have you ever really considered what happens when success comes along? And I mean really considered it!

Probably, like me, you'd never given it much thought except to think how wonderful it would be when the day arrived that you have a list of 1000's, when people are begging to sign up under you, when you can take off on the dream holiday with your family at the drop of a hat...

Let me tell you, it's not really like that at all!

As your list starts to grow, so do your responsibilities. How do you train and motivate and support 1000's of people instead of just a few? If you're an affiliate and your business goes bust, what are you going to do if you have to start over from scratch? How do you find the time to answer all the questions that are coming at you every day?

There is no doubt that being successful brings great rewards. I wouldn't want or expect you to believe otherwise. But consider the responsibility that goes with it. Prepare yourself for the shock and fear you will feel when it starts knocking at your door. Most importantly, recognise it for what it is.

Many people see the first signs of success as 'still struggling'. Couple this with the fear factor and this is the time when many home based businesses actually fail!

Don't let yours be one of them. The struggles may be huge and the fear can be paralysing. But the rewards are linked exponentially to how you deal with problems and fear.

Give in to them, continue with the same struggles you have now - you will get the same results.

Overcome them, and you can achieve anything.
