Bittersweet, I now remember.
I walked with God when I was young.
With not a care in my world.
I knew Jesus and he knew me.
Cold and alone, my faith now uncertain.
I cry out to God in my prayers.
Searching for solace, searching for hope.
I know sin and he knows me.
A chance to redeem, opportunity squandered.
God is waiting, he waits for me.
Engulfed in self-pity, enamored with pride.
I know damnation and he knows me.
Bittersweet, I now remember.
I walked with God when I was young.
With not a care in my world.
I knew Jesus and he knew me.
