Ok, well to start off with I am a huge fan of Miss Ellen Page, I think she is definitely one of the most talented young actresses around right now, and I do not know why she doesn't seriously snag much more Oscar Nominations and why in heaven's name she hasn't won at least one. Well life's not fair is it? Anyhow, I missed Juno in the cinema (Don't ask how) so I watched it when it came out on DVD, I loved it and was hooked from the opening song which is just so refreshingly different from the average movie songs and was very fun. The dialog is fast paced and witty, and never once do you get bored watching it. The movie is basically about a 16 year old girl, who gets pregnant and devirginized on the same night (You would think that in this day and age kids would know about condoms) and then decides what she wants to do with it whether to get an abortion, or put it up for adoption, she chooses the latter thankfully and is introduced to an apparently sweet and wealthy couple, however they have a couple skeletons in their closets which the movie brings to light later on. Michael Cera(Superbad) co-stars as the close friend and father of Juno's baby, he is very much the same as in Superbad but is still really fun to watch, and carries his role well. J K Simmons (Spider-Man 1,2,3) plays Juno's father and is a really nice guy in it who completely supports his daughters choices (wish I had a Dad like that). The soundtrack is excellent and most of it is written for the movie so it fits perfectly. Jason Reitman, who also directed 2005's hilarious but somber "Thank you for Smoking", does an excellent job here again and proves he definitely has what it takes to make great movies. The stripper turned screen-writer Diablo Cody makes you think she is a long time writer, and I was very surprised this was her first ever script and on top of it award winning script, since she won the award for it. All around this movie is perfect and ever so lovable, make's me remember why I love movies so much, and really speaks to the heart from the heart.
A beautiful movie not to be missed by any measure.
Oh one other thing, this movie on top of being heart-warming is absolutely hilarious, so if you love comedy go watch even for only that, and you will walk away with so much more.
