There is a big debate about this subject in every religious faction. I think eveyone should read what the bible says on the subject as to the unforgivable sins. It tells that to be forgiven, we have to go to him and ask for the forgiveness.
If someone commits suicide they can not ask for the forgiveness then commit the sin, it just does not work that way. You would be saying , Lord I ask you to forgive me for this act I am going to commit , I know better, but I am going to do it anyway, so forgive me in advance. That would be like asking a banker to give you the codes to the vault, Hey, guy I am going to rob your bank tomorrow so why not give me the codes today and forgive and not call the police, I know I am not supposed to do this but I am going to and I need your help to do it . They are not going to help you they are going to call the police and report you.
There are so many who threaten to commit suicide and do it for attention, this can cause real problems with people , how can they believe that someone who is really going to comit the act. There are so many who cry wolf, many times and this take s away from those who really do need the help and intervention to save them. By someone intervening and stopping them, then they can go to the Lord and ask forgiveness for trying to commit the act or thinking of it in the first place.
Once a person has commited the act, they can not petition the Lord for the act. Once your dead you can not ask for forgiveness from God or anyone else they left here on this earth. They have no idea how they hurt the ones they leave behind. Suicide is one of the most painful ways to hurt those who love you.
We as those left behind can ask the Lord to forgive them. I know how hard it is to understand why anyone would want to do this to themselves, especially children. I know how you want to believe that they will be waiting in heaven when you get there, but they won't be, they have commited the unforgiveable sin, no forgiveness due to no petition.
When children commit suicide I feel they do not understand that they are doing something that can't be taken back or forgiven. There is so many programs and music that shows it in a romantic light and how it can free you, that is not so, it condemns your soul, for eternity,
In 1999, my seventeen year old niece, hung herself in their back yard from a tree right behind their home. Early that morning she went out to her dads shed there she took a ladder and a rope, went to the big tree outside the kitchen window ,made a noose, climbed the ladder and tied one end to the roof of the shed next to it , then swung the noose end over the limb, placed the noose around her neck and jumped, she hit the ground on her knees the rope was to long, she then shortened the rope and did it again, this time she finished what she set out to do. Her 12 year old sister found her not 30 minutes later. This child sent out so many warning signals and no one would listen to those trying to talk to the parents and school officials because they thought she was just wanting attention.
My heart sank that morning when they called and told me, I got down on my knees and screamed till I couldn't scream anymore, I knew she was lost to us and God forever. I prayed and prayed many days for her to get better and she just wanted out . She was is so much pain. No you can not be forgiven if you commit suicide by God only by those who are left behind here on earth.
