There are a few things I am proud of but the one thing I am most proud of is the way my daughters turned out. I raised them completely different in most respects then I was raised. I had a very troubled and abusive home life and I did not want that for them. Yet I knew they had to learn that life was not a easy ride.
I made a promise to them that they would have a good life and they did. There were many times that we got by, by the skin of our teeth. We had times there was very little money, but I managed and I let see the whole of it, so they understood why things had to be put off, till we could afford them.
I was married to a man who would rather gamble away what money he had or just not work, so I had the role of mother and provider for years. I worked two somtimes three jobs to make the world better for them. I learned the hard way, that life is cruel and that if not given a dose of reality, you can never make yourself happy. So I always told my children the truth and protected them the best I could from the outside world.
They turned out to be the of the most honest, hardworking women. They give to society , and they bring a lot of joy to all those around them. They help everyone and anyone that needs them. They teach others that everyone counts and everyone can make something of themselves, they just have to apply themselves to it. They work hard and they are well thought of by their employers.
I married my second husband when they were but 8 and 6. This man turned out to be a Gods send to the girls and me. He was raised with high work ethic and morals and he helped me teach these to the girls. We both had hard childhoods and lived with very little. We wanted our girls to learn the value of working to earn your money and getting what you need and want , doing it yourself. By doing it yourself you will take better care and appreciate things more. So the thing I am most proud of is How I raised my daughters, and how they turned out. How they live their life by living what they learned. How they practice giving of themselves, how they help everyone around them, how they make everyone feel so important and how they never take any thing for granted and take care of their business upfront.
I know that they will continue to live, teach, love and give even after I am gone on to my reward, because of the way they were raised.
