Recognizing real-life heroes

To be a real life hero you do not need super powers. You do not need to save someone from a burning building, rescue a hurt animal, or save a life. Real life heroes don't even know they are one.

Mr. Ramon Correa is my real life hero, and he doesn't even know it. Who is this man? Why is he my hero? Mr. Ramon Correa is an extremely hardworking man who does everything in his power to provide for his family. He once told me he always strives to be the best he can be. "If I have to be a street sweeper to provide for my family, then I will be the best street sweeper any one has ever known," he said. This I will remember forever, and it has encouraged me to always work hard to achieve my goals. You see, he has been a street sweeper, and a maintenance guy, and a middle school drop out. He started with nothing. His family had nothing when they came to the United States from Mexico. Mr. Ramon Correa worked hard to provide for his five children and his wife. In a world he knew nothing about, he succeeded. Nothing stopped him, and he made no excuses. He got it done, always. Mr. Ramon Correa is now a business owner. He went back to school, got this GED, took some college courses, and opened his own business. He did all of this for his family, and it is because of him that they are all successful. His children where the first ones from his family to attend college and earn college degrees. He paved the way; he led by example.

Mr. Ramon Correa, is an honest man with good morals. He does the right thing, and is respectful towards people even when they do not show him the respect he deserves. He believes in always being truthful. He taught me that hard work and determination will get me where I want to be without needing to lie or deceive people. He reminded me that I should always respect the people that surround me.

Mr. Ramon Correa is a human being who makes mistakes, and is willing to admit when he is wrong. He learns from his bad decisions. He is a glass is half full kind of guy. He gets up when he falls, and he is stronger each time.

Mr. Ramon Correa is a good friend, He is someone who you can always count on to give you advice and support when you need it. He is always there for his friends and family. He puts others first. He makes those around him feel safe and protected.

Mr. Ramon Correa is a loving man. He loves and respects his family even when they disagree with his ideas. He loves towards his friends, his children, and his wife. Even though they sometimes have problems, the love he has for them is forever strong.

Mr. Ramon Correa is a playful grandfather. He makes time from his busy schedule to enjoy his grandson. He is a great example for him.

Mr. Ramon Correa has overcome all odds. He went from homeless to homeowner. He practices what he preaches. He is known and respected my many. It is my great honor to say that Mr. Ramon Correa is my father; he is my real life hero.
