Trying to remember why
falling to my death, I die
Waking, seeing, feeling pain
my life, a second chance, regain
I shirked my duties, I drank, I spent
I left my children, without a cent
I let my bills pile high and dry
I created my own, pig stye
I hit rock bottom, the lights went out
the only thing that came about
Wallowing in self pity, I pulled the plug
I hit the wall, I hit the drug
Letting go, is hard to do
it's easier when there's only you
But when responsibility came knocking at my door
I blocked it out, I paid dearly to ignore
Now come here my children, do not mourn
this hardened case, my life forlorn
My soul is saved, now do not weep
I have learned, now let me sleep

I adore him of course.
