Can strangers really be helping strangers in this somewhat selfish world we live in? Yes. They can and a small handful of them are. When compared to the number of people living in the USA alone it is a very small number of generous souls that are helping people in need that they have never met. They are giving of themselves with no hopes of getting anything in return except the satisfaction of helping someone. Now you may ask yourself who are these people and where can I find one? These wonderful people are heroes on a website called Wish Upon A Hero. This incredible opportunity was given to these heroes and wishers by a man named Dave Girgenti. He created it in the wake of 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina to give people a place to give and receive help.
If you have never heard of it you really should check it out. You can go on the site and read some of the wishes on there. You may even find some that you could be able to grant. Consider how many people there are in the country and how many of them need something but they have no idea where to go for help. This site needs to be promoted more and we need to get the word out about it.
You may ask yourself before you actually look, what kind of things are people wishing for? Well I'll tell you what some of them are. There are wishes on there that are something so simple like prayers or cards and even stamps. And then there are somewhat bigger wishes like a job or a place to live or money. Some people do post some things that they want and do not necessarily need. That is fine too. There was one that I read quite
