Understanding the relationship between business and ethics

Business and Ethics. Quite a combination,if used for the intended purposes.Let's take government for instance, are their practices business, ethical or what. Do they practice what they preach, or just the words to seem some what interested in the subject matter of it. Every American citizen has paid some price for their business practices, and or their ethical politics. Has the ethics of the constitutional rights of each person being sold to the highest bidder. Every department that oversees some type of agency in the government entity, has been cut by the ethical and business minded politician. Yet you here in there speeches, that they answer to the American people. Do they really. Example of the ethics; everything is fine when it's kept in the dark and away from the public spot light. But when the secret is leaked out, then the fire works begin. No one wants to be associated with the scandal.

Then the American people, must foot the bill and suffer the consequences of the actions of the individual that cause it. Should the American people be footing the luxury life of the elected officials, remember the facts that the constitution was written for, the people." By the people for the people". Did the ethical intent go or does it mean something, by the individual who makes the statement. The business is to serve the public not themselves, are they really serving us as they say. These are questions, that everyone should ask themselves. The public is a business too, your social security, you expect to receive at retirement. The health care system, educating our children. Providing quality public service is a business, and practicing ethical treatment of the people you serve is a key to a good relationship. Think about it,30yrs ago you talked to a person. Now you get a tape recorded menu, to choose from. Frustrating right!

The humane voice gave 20yrs of good quality and morally fit service to you, what happened. Business right, ethically sound no. Who is responsible for that, the politician who promised something in return. Who benefited from the return, no one will ever know. Why must a person elected to serve the public, want to spend a life time. It's the import and export of the public service business. Where does the ethics stand here in the political venue.
There have been several books written, on some of the subjects in the political arena. But is there a clear understanding and relationship of the whole practice. Integrity is the value we hope each and every individual posses. But that went away with our dear department generations before us. Look at history, remember the little S&L's Associations, honest place to save money right. Well that's a memory, now everything is a risk. Doctor's,Banking,Home Buying etc. You name it the name of business and ethics.See how long the relationship lasts,an who understands the concept.
