For Two years now
I've been in Bed,
Choking on
Bile,
Pretending I were
Dead.
They Broke my
Bones,
They Stole my
Spirit,
They Needled me
to my very
Limits.
But
Today,
From beneath their
Rusty Carapace,
I unfurl my
Wings
of
Gossamer and Lace,
And
Crawl from this Shell
Of Darkness and Dismay
Ready to begin a
Brand New Day.
I reach out my
Hand
And take
Yours
in
Mine
a
Fairy-Tale Beginning,
a
Gothic Lie
in
Time.
Like
Lovers
Of Old
Whispering Secrets
Never before
Told,
An
Ocean Lay between us
An
Eternity
Of
Things
Untold.
Where
Sleeping Beauty's sleep-filled vision
Saw
Rose-Encrusted Dreams;
Fables, Fool's Gold, and Bitter Spleen
Was the reality
it seems.
For,
Just
Like Snow White,
Bedazzled
By That
Bright
Red
Apple
How
Could
We
Know
Yet
Of
Thwarted Dreams
And
Make-Believe?

TWO HEARTS
Two hearts alone in solitude

Two hearts coming together
Under just one solemn oath
When in the darkness your body lingers,
a ghostly form next to mine, warm but not
warming my skin, I die a little there,

have all been answered long ago

My hope is that every person with cancer can smile because someone touched his or her life. So many of you made Nicki smile! I never imagined that I would devote my life to this cause, but when cancer touched my life it changed everyth...more
