Get ready! Get set! Its time to go!
The holiday season is here!
The final countdown until Christmas -
Your mission is fully clear!
Grab your news-fliers and your ads,
Count your pennies and dimes,
There's a thousand things to do,
And you've got oh so little time!
Beat the crowds to this store,
Scurry to the next,
You want to get all the sales,
Especially on Black Friday, for they're simply just the best!
Stock your cart eight miles high,
Fill it to the brim!
Get everything on your list,
And a few things on a whim!
Be sure you don't forget to get boxes,
Lights, tinsel, or a tree,
A star to put on on the roof of your house,
And of course, a Nativity!
The ham, the turkey, the yellow yams,
The nog and the snacks,
Whipped creme and cookie dough,
And of course, hot coco packs!
Stockings you'll need five of them,
Plus one for the cat,
Some chocolate covered cherries,
And a festive holiday door mat!
The bows and ribbons are essential,
Name-tags and bells galore,
And don't forget the candy canes;
You did that one year before!
Get gifts for your children,
Each one specially chosen with care,
Some socks for your grandma,
And for the hubby, under-ware!
Deck your halls with bells of holly,
Enjoy some Christmas tunes!
For the race begins tomorrow,
Its beginning all too soon!
For as soon as you've undecorated from the year before,
There it comes again,
Christmas rolls around the corner,
Tis the season for family and for friends!
Such a time for endless pleasure,
A time to sit back and relax,
And yet you're busy shopping,
Wrapping, cooking, and making snacks!
Yes the holidays were not what they used to be,
The race is surely on,
To be the first in line at stores,
Well before the break of dawn!
Perhaps this upcoming season,
We could perhaps make a little time,
To stop and think of the son of God,
And the star that he does shine.
Focus upon the miracle,
Of the blessed nature of this man,
Get ready to celebrate his birth,
To be witnesses to his final stand.
Perhaps this year when we get ready,
We can stop, pause, and reflect.
Thank our Savior for his life and death,
And pay our due respect.

GET READY
People get ready
I don't know what for
But it's good to be ready
You never know what's in store

Your pillow is wet from too much drool!
Get ready! Get ready! Get

GET READY
We seldom hear the angel wings
Which circle overhead,
Or see their shadow growing near
Until we join the dead.
