She puffs away on her cancer stick,
Rouge lips and all,
So young, so naive,
I watch her smile.
She puffs away on her cancer stick,
Grayer now than ever before,
Wrinkles and yellow finger tips,
I watch her weaken.
She puffs away on her cancer stick,
Chest tight, eyes glassy,
Lungs of tar,
I watch her cough.
She puffs away on her cancer stick,
Wheelchair parked,
Heavy breathing,
I watch her struggle.
She puffs away on her cancer stick,
Chained to a bed,
Dependent on her oxy tank,
I watch her dying.
She puffed away on her cancer stick once too many,
Six foot under,
Cancer riddled,
I watch her family grieve.
