Nowadays it is impossible for us to work without computers as most of our tasks are done using computers. Eye care is essential to maintain the health of your eyes. It starts with knowledge of keeping the eye healthy and following good guidelines for maintaining good eye health. There are many eye diseases that can be prevented with proper precautions and healthy eating. Eating a lot of Vitamins A, E, C, and some Zinc and Selenium can help prevent many eye diseases. Certain diseases might be caused by other factors such as obesity, diabetics, exposure to ultraviolet light, smoking, certain medications such as steroids, and many other factors. People with obesity or who are diabetic should have more routine checkups since they are more likely to develop certain eye diseases. Here are few tips that can help to make your eyes feel relaxed.
* While working for long continuous hours, look at some distant object. This can help your eyes to focus better.
* Try taking such visual breaks for about five to 10 minutes every hour.
* Rub your palms against each other till you feel them warm. Then, place your hands on your eyes for 60 seconds. Repeat this exercise two to three times whenever your eyes feel tired. The warmth of your palms helps soothe and relax tired eyes.
* Wash your face as often as needed. Splashing water on your face can make you feel refreshed.
* Place your middle fingers between the brows, above the bridge of the nose. Place your index fingers at the corners of your outer eye. Squint the lower eyelid upwards.Squint and release ten times, focusing on the pulsing each time you squint.
*When you are back to home, Keep two used cool tea bags on your eyes for a few minutes as you relax. This can help your tired eyes feel relaxed.
* Drink plenty of water. Never allow your body to feel dehydrated.
* Have a healthy diet which includes Vitamins A, C, and E on a daily basis. Never say no to citrus fruits, green leafy veggies, tomatoes, spinach, poultry and dairy products. Fresh salads are great snack at office.
A balanced diet, regular sleep habits, a balance between work and rest, and exercises play a vital role in restoring our health and helping us maintain our eyesight.
