Types of companies you can start with little or no initial expenditure

your client will soon realize that the tasks you are entrusted with are too big for your consulting shoes.

Second, consulting is often a lonely business, obviously for the sole proprietorship, one man/woman business. Working solo is not for everyone, especially if you tend to thrive in a group environment. A whole lot of self-discipline and focus is necessary to go it alone. So if you don't think you can spend weeks on end working on your own (especially in foreign assignments, away from family and friends), try to skip consulting. To be sure, an experienced consultant has peers and knows how to network professionally and socially, but it is not an effortless undertaking.
