What is so great about being the one?
The one who has responsibility
If anything goes wrong and likely it will
It comes back to the one with accountability
Responsibility is the burden so many must bear
The load, the strong must be willing to carry
Someone has to be responsible for things
Not everyone can party, be happy and be merry
You must have a DD, a Designated Driver
There must be a chaperon to dance
Someone is charged with locking the store
One person alone will advance
Make someone in charge, someone with courage
Someone who is mature and bold
A responsible person with wisdom and skill
Someone who is wisened and old
Does responsibility come with age?
Or is it gently acquired
Can you simply get old and be wise
Is age really all that is required?
Young and old alike can both be responsible
It only seems the old are much better
That is because they have spent their days
Being foot loose and fancy free, no fetter
Responsibility comes with the territory
It lands in each of our lives
It isn't something you assign or hand out
When we begin thinking, responsibility arrives
We're responsible for actions, accountable for choices
Responsible for the way we meet life
It isn't anyone else's responsibility
To be responsible for husband or wife
Meet your challenges head on and conquer them
Stand up for your own task at hand
You are responsible for your own responsibility
This includes making choices and taking a stand
Don't blame your parents, don't blame your life
You are where you are because of who you are
Exercise your own on-board wisdom
Take responsibility for your actions, be a star!
Nobody made you what you are today
You're the product of your own design
You alone are responsible for all that you are
Quit your crying, quit belly aching, don't whine
Responsibility is strong, it's all powerful
Simply accepting it can change your course
Stand up, stand proud, and take your life in your hands
Take responsibility; make yourself your best source!
