Don't ask don't tell they told him

I love him still, they never will
His life gone my frustration
He hardly knew a way to go
He hated being him I know

And I buried my only son but never
Will his name be honored
For being himself a human being
Don't ask don't tell they told him
Why? Why was his life so much less?
