It's hard to believe that one decade ago a little company named "Squaresoft" moved from the Nintendo platform systems to the new Sony system named "Playstation". It's hard to believe that one decade ago people flocked to the stores to purchase the new "Final Fantasy" game to see what the series would look like in 3D. It's hard to believe that one decade ago we were introduced to a blonde spikey headed mercenary named "Cloud" and it's hard to believe that one decade ago one of the best video games of all time changed the world of video games forever.
Here we are now though thinking about the good times and about to embark on another journey into that world to see how the events of Final Fantasy VII all began.
First of all Crisis Core is a Final Fantasy game; as of late games like X, XI and XII have slipped away form what the series once was; but, Crisis Core shows us that Square-Enix knows how to make a FF game still.
From the opening Crisis Core intends to impress; the immaculate and stunning graphics instantly suck you into the world and take hold of you. The Psp is being pushed to it's limits with this game and it delivers with 100% accuracy; even rivaling the graphics of PS3, X-Box 360 and the feature film "Advent Children".
But if you think that Crisis Core is all graphics and no substance you're gravely mistaken. Crisis Core introduces a new battle system that works for it's half adventure half RPG style. No longer is it possible for you to make slow choices about whether to heal or use and item or cast a spell; In Crisis core you need to have a plan and stick to it or you'll find yourself at the wrong end of a chain of attacks. The system adds a new 'dodge' button which allows the player to dodge almost any attack at anytime and uses a new DMW system that uses slot machine-like tactics to determine limit breaks and summons. While the gameplay can get a bit repetitive there's nothing more addicting than trying to beat the system for good DMW combos.
Aside from the new and engaging gameplay Crisis Core has a plot; and not just any plot a DAMNED GOOD ONE. The game centers around Zack, a character briefly featured in both Final Fantasy VII and it's sequel movie "Advent Children". Zack is a second Class SOLDIER trying to make it big as first class and achieve his dreams of being a hero in Shinra INC. But when Zack is thrown into the war with Wutai and forced to ask if what Shinra INC is doing is right or wrong; he quickly finds that being a hero and doing the right
