A hollow forms deep, within my being
No satisfaction, does there seem
The cavernous, empty vacuum
The huge, echoing back room
Me thinks, must be, within my dream
An emptiness such as, cannot exist
There is no sustenance, so meager as this
I crave so desperately
And pine so fervently
For satisfaction, for my hunger and thirst
No hunger have I experienced as yet
No thirst can compete with this, I fret
Where does it come from?
What will I become?
If satisfaction, I cannot get
My thoughts scream at me, "sate your hunger"
Time continues, and I get no younger
I must have realization
Of my own salvation
I must rid myself of this anguish monger
Such hunger, so deep, there has never been
I see my destiny that I must defend
I hunger for her charms
I thirst for her arms
To surround me, and hold me, till the end
I uncontrollably hunger for you, my wife
Your love has made my existence a perfect life
I am full, yet I need
I thirst not, yet I plead
Come to me, ease the pain, and cease the strife
Only you can ever fully sate this void
It's your presence that is all I have enjoyed
Please stay here with me
Quench my hunger and see
The gratitude, the love, you will not avoid

Poetry: Hunger
Blindly, I walk through the city streets of Atlanta
My eyes glazed over with visions not of you and your friends

A hollow forms deep, within my being
No satisfaction, does there seem
The cavernous, empty vacuum
The huge, echoing back room
"Street children"
Orphaned, hungry alone,
they ravage the garbage
Pillar through trash cans and waste,
Looking for one morsel,
One piece of bread a day
Was all I had
Sometimes, I would break it in half
Sometimes, I could make it toast
My children's bellies

Hunger
Guttural longing uncontrolled
Both night and day
Throughout the world
Searching, longing, growing old
Seeking protection
