Gone are the days when you had to walk or ride to a distant destination to see him or her for a chat or for a walk out to somewhere cool and cozy to spend a while together. Gone also are the days when you had to crack your heard trying to think up how to get across to her your feelings or indicate your interest in starting off a relationship with him or her. Gone still are the days when our being out town was a constraint you had to grapple with in order to keep in touch with your family or any other person you are emotionally attached to or have to scour around to get a pen, scribble some notes, run to the post office and get through the whole trouble of satisfying the postman's requirements in order to send your mail on the road.
For many of us in this age of technological revolution of an unprecedented dimension, the whole issue of getting across an emotional message to some girl or guy out there is nothing of an issue. This is consequent on the fact of not being encumbered by constraint of distance, time or whatever else as a result of available technology at the reach of all and sundry or at least to those who know, who care, or who are interested.
For a lady in California, USA, she doesn't have to bother about getting her feelings across to some guy in Nigeria or Liberia or anywhere else in Africa. Neither is it a problem for a guy in Seoul, Korea to chat anytime with some sweetheart of his in downtown London in UK.
With the array of technology available to us today the issue of establishing friendships, starting relationships or dating has assumed an interesting dimension. The Internet, more than any other has become the flagship of this whole phenomenon. With the arrival of mobile phone technology, e-mails, pagers, i-pods, video conferencing, multimedia messaging, voice messages, instant messaging, online chat-rooms, etc the horizon holds huge promise for dating to go on without let or hindrance.
Meetings, appointments, get-togethers, parties, recreation events and a whole lot of other activities that bring people together could be arranged within minutes and without anyone of the persons involved seeing each other beforehand.
Added to the meetings, events and activities that create the platform for relationships to blossom, the other aspect of giving expression to the innermost feelings within the heart is now a reality on a threshold that never before was imagined.
