Get ready...I'm gonna get you.
Hiding won't help at all.
I've got it, it's in my pocket.
You can't run; you can't even stall.
I see ya, you think I'm playing.
I warned ya, many times before.
Get ready...I'm getting closer.
You know that I'm outside your door.
Got flowers and I'm feeling nervous.
Ring the doorbell with my shaking hand.
You open the door like an angel.
Give ya flowers; I'm at your command.
I'm down on one knee, girl I've rehearsed it.
In my pocket is that golden band.
I got ready, but I'm shaking badly.
I ask you and I take your hand.
You say that magic word to me.
Get ready, I am your man.

We seldom hear the angel wings
Which circle overhead,
Or see their shadow growing near
Until we join the dead.
