Angels are God's messengers.  They came the night Christ was born.  They guarded his tomb when he died.  They watch over children, and yes, they are real!  If you believe in God, you must believe in angels! I didn't see any wings, but I know that angels are real because I saw one! She appeared to me about 25 years ago. How would you believe me since you do not know me? Well, I can tell you that I am a mature adult, a retired professor, and mother to a doctor. I went to an accredited Christian college, Milligan, and earned a Master's degree at East Tennessee State University. You might now feel that I may be a creditable witness, so read on.

A real messenger of God's, my angel came to me the night before major surgery. I had a tumor the size of a football inside me, and it had to go; fearful, I had had the thought of getting dressed and walking out of the hospital. Within a second of having that thought, a nurse entered my room, came to my bed, and told me that everything was in God's hands and was going to be okay. At that point, peace settled in over me. The nurse left as fast as she arrived. Another nurse came in and told me to get ready for bed. She said the "anesthetist" would be in soon. I asked her the name of the nurse that was just in my room, and she said, "I am the only one on the floor right now." I told her what the nurse looked like, and she said, "We have no nurses who meet that description. She assured herself by going to the front desk and returning to confirm her story. That was my first and only encounter with an angel, one that looked just like a nurse, and she didn't have wings that I could see.

In the Bible we learn that angels are "ministering spirits" that are sent to help us in someway. The angels in the Bible that appeared to men didn't have wings, either. They looked different from us, but only a few were seen with wings. My advice is to allow yourselves to see angels for what they are, not for what they appear to be. God's Word also tells us to "entertain strangers" because we may be interfacing with an angel, unaware. My one encounter came straight from God to tell me everything would be okay. I stayed and had the surgery because of my angel's visit. Everything went well with no complications.

My other encounter came via a friend's testimony about her sister. I had gone to my friend's to console her after her miscarriage. By the time I left, she had consoled me! She told me that her child was with the angels in
