However, your BAC can still be over the legal limit, so to ensure your safety as well as the safety of the general public, arrange a DD.
3. The bottom line is, be smart if you drink, and always arrange a DD. There's nothing wrong with asking someone to help you. Most establishments with liquor or beer and wine licenses can be charged with a crime if a legally intoxicated person leaves that place of business and gets into an accident that results in property damage, injury or death. The owner or bartender will more than likely be ecstatically happy with you if you ask for help finding a ride.
DUIs are expensive, not only to the people who get them, but to the community at large. When someone is killed because of alcohol, it is such a waste, not to mention a tragedy to the families involved. Most drunk drivers kill someone else, not themselves. Ask yourself if a drink is worth living with that reality for the rest of your life, and think before you sip. You just might save another person's life. Or your own.
