Your way is aggressive,
Aimed at achieving enormous success,
Late nights and early mornings,
Little time for rest.
My way is passive,
Empathetic and sympathetic -
Always worried about others,
With the potential to be all consuming, if I'd let it.
Your way is centered on self-advocacy,
Always addressing the bottom line,
Watchfully protecting the future,
Ensuring everything will be fine.
My way looks only to the present,
It projects not upon the past -
Savors only the here and now,
Enjoying each moment while it lasts.
Your way is directed,
Confident and self-assured.
Opening a window,
When closed - remains the door.
My way is creative -
Based upon not science or math,
Instead, only wanting the final outcome,
To bring a smile or a laugh.
Your way is based on fact -
Always in the black or white.
Willing to take a stand,
Able to remain strong and fight.
So is your way correct,
Or does mine provide more direction?
Perhaps the merging of the two is best,
The great balance - providing perfection!

I roll to the window and try to look down

YOUR WAY
I can do it your way
I don't really mind
It doesn't really matter
It's your way or mine
It was my idea
But I'm willing
If you"re meek
And rather weak
You always say
Let's do it your way
If you're strong
But sometimes get it all
With all my heart
I wish you the best
as you head off
to make your way
Gone are the days
when you needed me
when we laughed
