The day that I turned forty
Fun was had by all
Family and friends together
We really had a ball
The following morn as I awoke
I looked into the mirror
My cheeks looked rather saggy
My neck looked rather different
I called my sister Maggie
And said come over quick
Together as we stood there
Looking in the mirror
We couldn't understand
Just what was happening here
In such a panic I called my brother Morty
Said I needed him right away
Come on Morty come quick
We called our Mom
And explained what was going on
Gently she said
Don't worry it's normal
It's the beginning of a new dawn
As age it comes upon you
Things do change a little bit
But don't waste your time
Don't worry about it
You are still the one you were inside
Beautiful as can be
Age gracefully as the future comes
Accept what it is to began
Your forty now
It's just that way
It's is the beginning not the end
Look at it as a beautiful new day
We could not see
What Mom was saying then
But as the forties past
And fifties arose
We understand today
That beauty changes just a bit
Things are different in a way
But deep inside
We are the same
Just got smarter along the way

Forty is a harbor to find,
Where youth yields its carefree ways to time.
Stroll slowly down that gentle path,
Find shelter
Once so very far away
I never thought I’d see the day
When turning 40 was so near
And time is suddenly oh so dear

TURNING FORTY
Turning 40?
What do you mean?
Been there done that.
And in between
Turning forty ain't nothing
You're hardly half
by Sid de Knees
I look like my dad..
I tend to move quite slowly now,
and find aches when I do,
I find that stairs are murderous,
and toe nails
Feeling sad cause you're turning 40?
I'm twice that now and feel young and sporty.
I walk two miles most every day.
I do chores,
