NBA team profile: 2007/2008 Charlotte Bobcats

to post a shocking 1-11 record for the month of February.

At 19-39, the playoffs were gone for Charlotte, but pride was still very much at stake, and the Bobcats took advantage of starting March against some weaker teams by posting five consecutive victories.

So good was their form during this time, Richardson was voted the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for March 3-9.

The Bobcats good work was undone by dropping their next five games in a row, before splitting the remaining games of the month and finishing March with a 28-46 win-loss record.

For the final month of the season, April, the Bobcats went loss-win-loss-win for all eight games, finishing the season with a disappointing 32-50 win-loss record.

The Bobcats ended up finishing second-bottom of the Southeast Division, 20 games behind division champion Orlando.

On April 26th, 10 days after the conclusion of the season, head coach Vincent was fired after just one season in charge.

The Bobcats, having now been around for four completed seasons, would have genuinely felt ready to step up to playoffs contention.

They made their intentions clear by signing Wallace to a multi-year contract, and recruiting the talented Richardson.

However, things did not go to plan, and the Bobcats must again try and find that one All-Star starter whom they can build their team around.

The nucleus of a good side is there, as along with Wallace and Richardson, Emeka Okafur is doing well at the center position, and Raymond Felton is trying hard, but they just lack some superstar power to put the icing on the cake, and turn them from being a "good, ordinary" basketball side, into a playoffs one.
