Why do we whisper "always"?
It is a concept we may never grasp.
Why do we utter "never"?
Not knowing what will come,
Or what has passed.

Why do we promise?
We stare in our own reflection
In our lover's eyes, and lie.
After committing the forbidden sins,
Expecting Karma to just pass us by.

Why do we seek perfection?
Not noticing the beauty,
Of what we fear is not.
Forgetting that it is our duty,
To live the way that Jesus, and all the prophets taught.
