Since we do not look at a person because of his color any more, but, because of his accomplishments, then, of course, I think Hillary's win would be historically important. That means, that Obama would be just another man who ran for Democratic party against a woman and won or not. I shouldn't think he should go down in history as the first black nominee because that would be discrimination.
Granted, Obama's grandmother is white and that makes him part white, then why do we dwell on the fact that he is black? To me, he is a nice looking, JFK sort of man, with much charisma who can draw the crowds. How he would be in the oval office is another thing. He is young and can be molded into what his advisors wish of him. I believe all the foreign dignitaries would kowtow to him, whereas, with Hillary, and the way they feel about aggressive women, I don't know. I believe Obama is young and trusting, but, something tells me he could easily be "set up" because in a way, I believe he is vulnerable to all the older politicians and if someone wanted him out, then, out he would be. This is providing one of them make it to the White House.
I think Hillary is strong, handles herself well, has some shade in the Clinton past, BUT, she stuck with Bill through his Monica days; however, I would have too, had I been First Lady. She is a senator, has been First Lady and I think after knowing many politicians, she would carry it off well and open doors for other women who would like to to make it in the political world.
Another factor would be that Hillary's husband was once president. She would be the first female nominee who had a husband who was a former president and not one who had a dad as a former president. If Condoleeza Rice ran and won, then, she would be the first female Democratic nominee.
I don't like Obama's pastor but, that should have nothing to do with him personally unless that is what he has been taught going to that very church for the past twenty years. The hate on the Rev. Wright's face is so evident, we do not need that type person even in the U. S. much less as clergy. He says now we took his sermon out of context. I say "NO WAY!"
So, I honestly think, Hillary's win would be the most important.
