Past incarnations provide the root of all that will happen in a souls future lifetimes and this is particularly the case with the most recent past lifetime. Throughout our many previous incarnations, the main purpose of our existence here initially is in amassing physical experiences and later on we undertake further lifetimes in order to gain understanding and healing of all that has gone before.

Each time we leave the physical realm we must review the life just lived and this has been described by many who have undergone Near Death Experiences as a completely objective experience, free from the encumbrances of the ego, Reviewing our life experiences enables us to identify the lessons that we most need to move forward into and helps us to isolate the three major conditioning factors which will define the essence of our next incarnation. Here we set up the necessary circumstances for our upcoming life lessons and the design of our physical, astral and mental vehicles are conceived, similar to the way in which a teenager chooses their classes in school for the coming year.

The first of these factors comes in the form of the physical environment into which we will incarnate and this includes such things as general culture, social status, interests and the pursuits of the entire family unit into which we will be entering which will help to shape our development. None of these factors are left to fate and thus we should never allow ourselves to feel victimised by our circumstances as at a soul level we are living the life that we have chosen in order to follow a specific path of learning.

The second determining factor is the state of the physical vehicle or body as this is the factor that relates most to karma, particularly in terms of the nervous system. Each incarnation sees us choosing the physical body which best suits our overall purpose and our individual nervous system will see us interpreting the world in its own characteristic way, profoundly structuring every experience that we have along the way and thus our overall view on life. Our natural abilities steer us towards our path of least resistance whilst our weaknesses see us avoiding other endeavours.

The third factor is the make up of the astral or emotional body which determines to what and to whom we are attracted and at the same time who and what we also attract. This energy body links us to our perception of the world around us through our nervous system including our physical senses of touch, taste, smell, hearing and sight which are emotionally linked.

Whether or not we a conscious of the fact, as human beings, we perceive one another as a complete energy package including every auric level and every one of our subtle bodies which respond to the energies that correspond in every individual that we meet. The responses that we have to this mingling of energies are emotional and as such we seek out and are sought out by those with whom we have predetermined business to attend to, whether only in one incarnation or in lifetime after lifetime as with those in our karmic group. This group may or may not include our family of origin but always includes those with whom we experience life altering associations.
