How to grow in a spiritual way in your day to day life

We incarnate here on Earth in order to expand our consciousness and this takes place over the course of many lifetimes. Every one of us suffers sexual and every other form of abuse at some point during our evolutionary unfoldment and in turn we each inflict those same abuses during our necessary experiencing of all that life has to offer. When we begin our journey through evolution, we do not set out with the most moral principles and instead must forge our way through many incarnations until the body and the mind finally become disciplined so that we can finally consciously employ them to help our fellow humans beings.

This journey is nothing if it isnt long and initially our animal instincts, urges and appetites rule our existence. This can inflict great harm upon both ourselves and also on those around us, though we are not yet capable of true evil. At this early stage we simply follow out animal nature which helps to develop our capacity to choose.

The capacity to choose is not equally evolved and developed amongst all members of the human race at the same time and until each of us is sufficiently advanced as an individual our bodys instincts and promptings, like those of the animals will make the majority of our choices for us, free from guile and completely under the influence of physical appetites and emotional impulses and struggling to learn the most basic principles of self control. Thus we all begin as "young souls".

Esoterically speaking this stage is as infancy in the physical realm and as such our early explorations of the physical world are limited chiefly by the degree of pain we are able to tolerate. Our capacity for empathy eventually develops as a result of this pain that has been endured and also resulting from pain that one has inflicted in return. Until we have developed empathy we are only restrained in our behaviour by the prospect of punishment but over time our consciousness evolves and the constraints over our behaviour become internal rather than external.

The level of consciousness in relation to age differs with the individual depending upon their spiritual evolutionary stage as an individuals regard for the physical, mental and emotional well being of another human being cannot simply be learned but must be brought forth and this means it must be there to begin with. Unless the person has already achieved the capacity for such respect through past experience, education cannot bring it out.
