Grandma was the bluebird
She wrote of when she was young
Who kept her chicks warm in a stable nest
Taught all of them right from wrong
Sacrificing more than enough
To ensure that her babies were happy
Giving them strength, though she needed it more
When the bluebirds lost their daddy
Old enough to leave the nest
Her babies went on their way
Flew up high on sturdy wings
Because of everything that she gave
Grandma was the bluebird
That inspires me still today
I write from my heart as she always did
Her poet's soul, she passed my way
Grandma lives on in her writing
As the bluebird who did her best
Her best turned out to be more than enough...
And love took care of the rest
"The little bluebird sits in her nest
To keep her chicks warm, she is doing her best..."

The ends as well as the means
